Nurturing hearts and minds on a path of possibilities

Keeping you informed

Traditionally we have created newsletters for parents, however as information and ideas pop up sporadically throughout the week we felt it more effective to communicate through this page. Similar to a blog page, this will update regularly with information for all our parents and carers.

Co-op Community fund

2nd November 2021

I am delighted to inform you that Pinvin Community Pre-school has been chosen as one of the charities to support through the community fund. Our project focuses on mindfulness through art therapy. Funds raised will be used to provide art therapy training to enable us to deliver sessions to children, families and the wider community, bringing young and old together.

Mindfulness has become an accepted practice in the treatment of anxiety. Art therapy operates on the same principle, as the use of art materials and the act of creativity stop cycles of repetitive thought and worry. This calms down the body and subsequently, the mind.

You can help to support us by:

Adding us as your chosen cause to your Co-op card and we will receive 2p for every pound spent in store.

Expressing interest to complete the art therapy course with the pre-school community to then deliver to children, families and the wider community.

Summative observations published

31st October 2021

Your child's summative assessments were published on Tapestry before we broke up. This provides a wonderful oversight of your child's experience of the setting and we would welcome any feedback from these. If you haven't managed to take a look, please do and share with your children where possible. If you have problems accessing Tapestry, please let me know.

Dental hygiene

October 30th 2021

There has been a huge push lately on the promoting of good dental hygiene in young children. Statistics demonstrate the high levels of tooth decay in the early years can have devastating effects for their future lives - please see our website for more details. As well as teaching children the importance of being healthy through activities and resources we would like to make a change in how we celebrate birthdays. Traditionally families bring cake or sweets in for the children. We would like to request that instead of sweet treats if you do wish to bring anything in, this could be stickers. Every child loves a sticker and we feel this would be cheaper and a better way to celebrate together!
